Its been a tough week... sadly the gig at Moran’s was XC on the 28th however that still left the 29th, 30th and 1st.

29th - Finnegan’s Wake Edinburgh - Really enjoyed this gig. It’s a great set up. Bose Pa System, you just bring your backline and your mics and off you go. With it being the center of town you really get a good crowd. The crowd is normally made up off people from all countries. It was very busy night 3 x 45 mins sets we did starting at 10. Lots of familiar faces, which is great including some family.  My wee cousin Andy came with the news that he bought a custom SG with VOS Trem… I love it… and its great to see the wee guy getting into music and wanting to get out there and play… cant wait to see it!!!

The gig started off with our normal set and a few new ones, Bryan Adams – its only love (we need to get this mapped out more) Paradise City which I pushed too hard and lost my voice and so I couldn’t hit the High F however big mike from the schticks said it worked and if anyone’s opinion counts it really is his.

We got big mike up as well and he played a blinder, never played with the band before and he got a chance to play my les Paul standard… luck boy… Mike kept his Andy Cap hat on, which looks cool and is defo the reason why he played really well. Lol.

Feedback was amazing…. In the breaks I normally sneak out side and get a bit of fresh air away from folk… have a wee moment. A lady and her husband spotted me and were very complementarity about the band and my voice… This felt great but I don’t know how to handle complements about the voice… im not sure why, I do put a lot of work into this but I just now there is so much more to do and things could be so much better.

I like this bar… it’s a goodie.

30th - - Behind the wall – Falkirk… I used to like this place… but since they decided to take the monitors away it’s been a right pain in the arse… I was concerned at this however the Connelly machine sorted it to have two massive 15” monitors there. WHAT A DIFFERENCE MONITOR MAKE… every singer needs these… I have made it a new years promise to always make the effort to ensure I have these at all gigs… if you don’t, you push, if you push, you can strain, if you strain then its good night Vienna!

This turned out to be a good gig. The audience was a little laid back but again it’s between Xmas and new year, people are eatin and drinking like crazy… Big Mick said that he felt this was probably the most professional gig we did… I think he is right… in fact he is and this showed me iv been getting a little lost in looking at what can be done better all the time and should really just sit back and enjoy it a little… im sure if I did this it would come through more in the performance.

A good gig all over… wouldn’t miss the gig if we didn’t get it again.. Something’s I just cant let go.. The monitor situation pissed me off when it happen (relax sweendog!)

1st Jan Moran’s Bar Blackburn… Wooooooohoooo… the gig of the year so far…. Lol eh it’s the first one… eye well still a good gig… We started off really slow today… taking it easy. Great to see a lot of friendly faces… even mr Gillion showed up… woooweee… ha ha ha text from him said he enjoyed it, Id like to see him at a gig, get a few beers, infact get drunk do a song and let his hair doon… good guy and does a lot so im gonna make sure he has sometime like that this year... Mr. Muirhead was there and giving it large with the slagging but as always he is funny and real good friend.. Tony Moran really looks after you… a great guy to work for and he says we are staff now… that s good by me.

Overall very enjoyable relaxing no voice pressure or straining… after the first set the place got that busy that we couldn’t get off the stage for the second break so we decided to play straight through….

Shocker of the night was when a woman approached big mike and said that she was from the pub up the road and wanted to poach us to play there regular and help to bring the punters in… a great complement but no thanks… were Moran’s staff now… lol

Looking forward to taking Jan off spending time with my good lady Vikki… she is the best ever… a few things planned up the sleeve for 2012… its going to be the hardest working and play year of my life… lots to do….
