The King Lot Tour Day 3

Today we travelled from Newcastle to Glasgow. This is a gig I'm looking forward to as it is kind of our home town gig. The traveling was ok as it was just across country then up the M74. We stopped and got some rolls. The diet needs to improve, this is something I'm gonna get into when back home.

GLASGOW o2 ABC

The last time i was at this venue was watching Whitesnake. It was a long time ago and its amazing to play the same stage as they have. Theses the biggest gig we have done to date i believe the capacity is 1600. The load in isn't the best as its right up the stairs to the top floor. There is a lift but you can only get so much in. rodies really do a tough job.

THE GIG

Doors were at 7 and we were on at 7.15 so the crowd wasn't fully there. It soon started to fill up and i saw a few familiar faces. Its great to start to see people singing along with the words. Its times like these when it really hits home on the work that been done. These songs were written from the heart and to see people really get into it and sing the words must mean they connect with it in some way. Its really cool.

We went on the stage with the intro tape running and it really makes a big difference. It actually gives me goose pimples. The set was going well and it wasn't until one of these days i felt my voice starting to tire out a little. I know this is because of the drink and crap food I've been eating so i need to make a point of changing that. Imagine i cant sing! how pissed off would the boys be! I'm taking lots of water to hydrate and I'm warming up a good 20 mins and warming dow, but i know i can do more.

Watching the Dan Reed Network sound check was really interesting. Dan really takes control and makes sure everyone gets what they need. The moment that man steps on stage is when he start really getting into it. The whole night was running late, we had been there since 3/4 and at 6.50 we were still to sound check. Dan once again really looked after us, he is such a gent.

AFTERWARDS

It took ages to load out but we made it and popped round to a the garage in Glasgow for a quick pint before heading home. Martin Jarvis got us in which was really nice of him. We didn't stay for long but it was good to let the hair down and just relax a little, who would have thought that sitting in a van allay could be so taxing.

In the morning we traveling to Buckley in Wales, looking forward to seeing these guys. I love the Welsh.
