SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

I’ve been doing a lot of rehearsing of the set based on feed back I have been getting and I have been critical reflecting on what I have been told on how I can improve.

It’s been really difficult to get it right and its seems that every gig I do for the research im not getting it right, I am also balancing the fact that I am trying to do the observations.

I decided to do a little more research towards the songs that are recognised from within this industry and strike the right chord (as they say) with this type of audience.

I came across a book called connecting through music with people with dementia by Robin Rio. In the book he suggest have a set filled with various traditional and popular songs from various cultures. I have collected the list to add to my set.

Amazing Grace
My bonnie lies over the ocean
Oh you beautiful doll
Silent night
Jingle bells
Till we meet again
When Irish eyes are smiling
When the saints go marching in
