Schtick of rock vs morans

Two gigs today.. Morans from 4 till 7 then its Schtick of rock vs dirty Harry.. Had a reh with stand in drummer Chris gillion who is doing a great job, keeping it steady at the back is the secret.

Morans gig, it was big kevs birthday so we picked a set that we thought Kev would like, starting off with older songs then moving on to the heavier rock songs. Strange one because some songs no one would clap. Tony pointed out that no one even notices as they are to involved in conversation to prove it he put on a song from the juke box, slade, i wish it could be xmas everyday! No one battered an eyelid... funny gig, played well and sang good i felt, big mike said he got the chance to try out so chops that he wouldn’t normally do, didn’t notice much of a difference which is good coz that means it fitted coz you hear things that don’t straight away.

Voodoo Room. Finished gig at morans and speed across west lothian to the center of Edinburgh town. Got to the gig at 8 and we were on at 830... went to speak to the sound engineer and he seemed unhappy, put my hand out to shake his and introduce myself and he didn’t even look me in the eye. I don’t like that I find it rude but I held my hand there till he shook it! Went into the dressing room which was beside the kitchen, small and no room to get changed so I had to do that in the hall part... no the best but hey what can ya do, met a few people before going on stage the promoter and the band were really nice bunch of folk.

Time to go on stage with our replacement drummer Chris gillion who did an amazing job! Best gig he has ever played as far as I am concerned... tempos were perfect cues everything and he went the full hog with the costume... I couldn’t see a thing! Couldn’t see my words so just went for it and made many mistakes but I really enjoyed the night... remember the sound engineer, well what a job he done really great... he looked after us... nice guy that boy lol

Reception from crowd was brilliant, after the gig I got change and had a few grey gooses and coke… awww tasty and a chippy to finish the night off… great long day!
