We did the video shoot for the track we recorded today. The director was a film student called Ross Cameron. Ross did a great job of explaining what we were to do and what the schedule would look like. It was great fun but hard work. Theze dam studio lights are hot.
It was great to see Ross and his team work, listening to them speak about the shoots they were after, the way the lights had to be, working out answers for the challenges they were facing. feedback from them was good and they said we did really well.
The guys in the band also pulled it out the bag. Nik the drummer came up with a great idea of damping the kit down with gloves inside the hithat, tape underneath the cymbals which really helped on lowering the volume of the kit. This enabled us to here the backing track better and play in time.
Jenni the singer went all out. She did her own dramatic lady ga ga make up and wore a pair of glasses that were designed with ROCKSTAR on them... hats of to her for going all out..
However everyones favourite wee jase stepped in to play bass at the last minutes and provided the laughs through the shoot... he is a drummer by the way, oh and a signer and promoter, so he says...
The track that we have done really needs attention in the mixing department.. I tried my best today to get the levels right but when we got it to the film studio it was a little distorted. The good news is that Nik the drummer has taken it away and is going to put a little time into the track... I will be working with him next week on this.
The film students have asked us back next week to do some shots with effects which should only take and 1hr. they ahve also said they aim to have it edited by xmas...
