schtick of rock vs Murrayfield stadium... probably the biggest crowd ive played to... we first got there and when i saw the stage it wasn't what i imagined... in fact i was like what the hell is this... i just thought it would be a big tent... in the dark and under cover for the band and the punters... however we first met the sound engineers who couldn't have been any nicer...
The equipment was first class.. so much so that the engineer set the levels then walked to the other side of the flied with his ipad and controlled it from there!!! what next? technology has just came on leaps since the old days where i was scared of cubase and midi!!! apple are taking over the world...
The onstage sound was the best id ever had! clear as a bell... we started around 1pm and begun our first set which was around 20 classic rock songs... people as they were passing started to stop and watch with their mouths open which i suspect it was because of the spandex... all in one red suit i had on... the highlight was when a wee boy who must have been no more than 6 shouted out... you look like a red power ranger!!! i was laughing but still asked security to chuck him out!!! who does he think he is eh!!! lol
the crowd really started to gather and the applause was very loud and feedback was great!
Edinburgh won the game which was great. I was a little concerned that people would only be interested in getting out of the grounds after the game however i was pleasantly surprised when sea of people where there for us starting and quickly gathered into a couple of thousand folk... the roars where brilliant and by that time they had a good few beers down them so they were more into it! its fair to say the band played well and that the interest was great as well.. the engineer commented on the fact that they had never seen such a crowd stay after a game to watch a band.. this made me feel great!!! check the crowd below
