Tonight was probably one of the most interesting research performances i have done for MiH. I have been to Leuchie House before and had a great time and made some new friends also which is always a good thing.
Tonight I was told that there may not be many watching and that i should just go to the room and start playing and some people would wheel in. 10 in total came in with around another 4 workers. The lights were dimmed and i really think that made a big difference. The lighting sets the atmosphere and helps get a better message of music over.
I was able to see this straight away, this has got me thinking that visuals are probably just as important in the whole experience of live music as the music is. Lights really make a difference towards an atmosphere... I saw this 30 second video on you tube that shows how dramatic lights can be on the room..
The night was a success and it was good to have such a diverse range of music as the audience were asking for different things, This audience participation allowed me to open up a conversation with them as to why they liked that and nearly everyone said "it reminds me of good times when i was younger". This is is again another area i wish to look into more.
