Inglorious Glasgow G2 and The Caves Edinburgh

There has been a buzz around about the band Inglorious. I listen to Planet Rock every morning or really whenever I'm in the kitchen and it feels like they are on the radio all the time.

The first gig with them was in Glasgow at the G2. This venue is great, good size and really nice decor for a live band place. The only downside is the structural supports which go right up the middle of the room but obviously that can't be helped.

Again it's another 30 mins set opening the night. The sound on stage was excellent I could hear the vocals really well. The place filled up fast and the response from the crowd was really positive.

After the gig feedback was good and everyone's comments on the songs were mirroring others in the past, high energy, melodic sing along tunes which was exactly was I was trying to achieve with this album.

Once Inglorious took the stage I was impressed straight away. They have a good sound. I loved all the gibsons and Marshall set up and bass sound is excellent. I'm unsure if they really need six members. It does seem that every one is playing at once. I'm a big fan of layering and then stripping back before building with songs, a technique that is used by many and still resonates strong till this day.

The singer Nathan is a well trained signer. I don't know this for a fact but I would bet money on that he has had lots of lessons. Its amazing how he controls his vocals and I heard that this was their 6th gig in a row so that blew me away as his voice was right up there.

The next night we had the Edinburgh Caves gig. It was more relaxed and I turned up later and more or less went straight on stage to sound check. Space was tight, but we made do.

The gig was brilliant. Great energy from the crowd but I didn't stick around as I was feeling rubbish and knew an early night was needed.

We had Marc and Iain help us set up and derig which is s huge help, Marc has always been there and Iain is great with his knowledge on just about everything you can imagine with music.

These two gigs were superb fun and I feel very fortunate to be playing my songs I front of the right people that seem to enjoy the music. Our next gig is in March with tyketto and is an over nighter so it looks like it's going to be fun.
