Grabbed an acoustic today so that when it was my turn to solo I had the visual aid of scatting the blues scale.. I think this is working well, however listening to others I a little unsure where everyone is going. I couldn’t hear the changes correctly which is indicating to either, im doing it wrong or the others are.

Once again it takes a little time for things to stat going, I think this is because it’s such a large group. People start playing their own thing, which is really annoying…

Started the track 3 after getting through no 2.  I think I have it in for everyone today. I’m hearing change too quick. I’m also pretty sure im right that we were going into it too soon. The rhythm section is down, but I think the problem comes when route notes are not being hit on each bar with others when they should be taking care of the structure and not their turn to solo. I call this overplaying.

Second time around on the blues 2 I feel more confident. The visual aspect of the guitar is a winner.

As I listened more I found that on bar seven something wasn’t right…. I heard the bass play something that wasn’t there and it was putting me off… I challenged the guys on this and they told me that it had been changed to Am instead of F7 the week before. Aaahhhh!!! Well at least it shows I can spot it…..

A good week this week as the work was put in during the week before this practice… you really can tell the difference.
