The Diamond Rock Club blew my mind on first impressions. We took the flight from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to Belfast and we were picked up by Derwin. I hope thats how you spell his name, but hey haw this is my blog and write as i speak, so thats how you say his name.
Derwin and paul were gents, they took us to the club and as you walk in there was lots of food for us, oh and menus to order a indian for later. Yip thats right! At this point im feeling like royalty. The place was covered in memorabilia, photos and signatures of all the bands, quality bands at that, which had visited the place. It was really cool.
The sound check went well, they had the marshall amps they had the ampegs they had everything all set up to go, we basically turned up with our guitars and sticks then plugged in. Once again the King Lot did a strong set and i was pleased that we put All is not lost in there. Its been a while since we played it. Its important for me that when im singing songs that i have a connection with it. All these songs a so personal to me. I often find it difficult singing cover in the events band as the majority of them i dont like so it makes it a tough job. It must be difficult to be in a band that you dont have a connection with if your like me. I believe there are to people, there are writers and there are supporters.
Doing this role in Jizzy Pearls Love Hate i am a supporter and have a personal connection so im winning on both accounts. There is lots of video surfacing from the tour which is great to see. One thing i will says about the Irish is they love a glass of beer or two. ohhh my head!
The place we were staying at was out of this world! fantastic! the best bed every. im not telling you where as it is a secret i dont want anyone to go there (or maybe i just cant remember).
