Working on 'So what' by George Benson: Dm7//// //// //// //// //// //// //// //// Dm7//// //// //// //// //// //// //// //// Ebm7//// //// //// //// //// //// //// //// Dm7//// //// //// //// //// //// //// //// (transposed by Andrew Beveridge) I started off my section with counting against the rhythm. An example of this was coming in at beat three as if it was beat one. It proved to be a little interesting. After the first time round i came in a little harder which now felt like it was picking up the pace. It all got a little wooly. because of this i lots the notes and couldn't hear the definition of the frequency, this was bad as there are only two chords in the structure. I tried to play around with velocity on the scat section 2nd time around. which was pretty cool. So far we have
It was great hearing the band take things right down and let the bass do some walking lines. It really added so taste to the song. The drums section was amazing, everyone dropped out and let Steven go wild. Third time around was harder, too many ideas and lines, I'm trying to do less and make use of the space, think the band is still a little loud. This Masquerade. We worked on the section that me and Gary done in unison, it works well but some notes are a little off due to me. I then went into the verse with little scats at the end of each line, i then scatted the full 3rd verse. Are we really happy here With this lonely game we play Looking for words to say Searching but not finding understanding anywhere We're lost in a masquerade Both afraid to say we're just to far away >From being close together from the start We tried to talk it over but the words got in the way We're lost inside this lonely game we play Thoughts of leaving disappear Every time I see your eyes No matter how hard I try To understand the reasons Why we carry on this way We're lost in a masquerade
